My Helpful Invention

Your child will build early problem-solving skills and learn that a helpful machine still needs human judgement. By designing a pretend plant-care invention, they’ll practise explaining a job, testing an instruction and deciding when to question its advice.

This lesson is being prepared for our family pilot. Paid enrolment opens after the launch review. The four free activities are available now.

Your child will practise useful AI skills.

Your child will learn to explain a helpful job and test instructions with an adult.

You’ll read and play together, help with the controls and join the offline activity. Each lesson can be split into short sessions.

Instruction and sorting games are simplified simulations. Following a fixed sequence is different from an AI model learning patterns from examples.

Your child will learn through guided play.

Your child will work through three guided activities, then apply the skill to a fresh challenge. Feedback explains their choices and helps them try again.

  1. Choose a job that helps the plant.
  2. Build a reminder to check the plant.
  3. Test your invention’s instructions.
  4. Check whether the advice still helps.

Your child will try a new challenge to show how they can use what they have practised.

Your child will create something of their own.

My helpful invention

Your child will draw their invention, explain its job and test one instruction with you. Together, you’ll identify something the machine needs a person to check.

You’ll be able to download their written record and see their progress in your family space.
