Robot Sorting Picnic
Your child will begin to understand why AI can get things wrong: a few examples don’t tell the whole story. By checking Pip’s picnic sorting, they’ll practise noticing patterns, questioning guesses and explaining their own reasoning.
Your child will practise useful AI skills.
Your child will learn to use examples to sort things and notice when a guess is wrong.
You’ll read and play together, help with the controls and join the offline activity. Each lesson can be split into short sessions.
Instruction and sorting games are simplified simulations. Following a fixed sequence is different from an AI model learning patterns from examples.
Your child will learn through guided play.
Your child will work through three guided activities, then apply the skill to a fresh challenge. Feedback explains their choices and helps them try again.
- Help Pip pack the picnic.
- Check whether Pip’s guess is right.
- Choose what you need for a picnic.
- Sort a new basket by yourself.
Your child will try a new challenge to show how they can use what they have practised.
Your child will create something of their own.
My sorting mat
Your child will draw a sorting mat and explain why each object belongs in its group. Together, you can try the same idea with safe objects at home.
You’ll be able to download their written record and see their progress in your family space.
